Course Description

Learn to draw with a direct observation with an emphasis on dry media such as a pencil. The class will prepare you to create quick drawings and focus on drawing media, techniques, and subject matter.

  1. 1 ea. set Stump Blending paper tool byCreative MARK (aka *TORTILLION), set of six # 1,2,3,4,5,6
  2. 1 ea. pencil sharpener, small, metal with single hole. (no plastic ones)
  3. Erasers:

    1 ea. PRISMACOLOR – kneaded rubber eraser, color gray, square. (code #65324)

    1 ea. eraser by VANISH 25/8" L x 3/4" x 3/4" thick (code #64697).

  1. 1 ea. paper pad, Ring Binder by STRATHMORE ,size 14” X 17”, 400 Series, Best Recycled Sketch Paper, fine tooth surface, 100 sheets. (code #457-14)

     *TORTILLION; a round paper tool, various diameters, used for blending the graphite in drawings or shading.

Supplies available at Jerry's Artarama, 1140 SW 67th Avenue, Miami. other art supply stores may carry some.

Mrs. Anita Klimek is an OLLI member who attended University of Miami, Miami-Dade Community College and the Miami Arts Institute. She grew up in Miami, Florida and has been an artist all of her life. She taught art painting and drawing at Michael’s arts and crafts retail chain. She also teaches painting privately at her home.
