Course Description

In this course, you will learn to draw and sketch using different mediums. You will need:

• 14” x 17” – newsprint pad (charcoal drawing)
• Crest charcoal PLC medium pencils – 2 (charcoal drawing)
• 8885 prisms kneaded eraser XL #122 and eraser by Vanish 25/8” Lx3/4” thick (code #64697)
• CW willow charcoal #15 pc mix d (charcoal drawing)
• 18” or 24” ruler
• 14”x27”, 400 Sketch Series Paper pad, Ring Binder by Strathmore, fine tooth surface, 100 sheets;
Marco Graphite pencils, a box of six #HB, 2B, 4B, 6B, 7B, 8B
• Stump Blending Paper tool, set of six #1,2,3,4,5,6
• SoHo Urban Artist Ebony pencil
• Sandpaper block 1”x4” #10372
• Spray fixative for pastel, charcoal, and pencil, matte
• Prismacolor colored pencils, (optional)

Week 1 Starting with simple drawing and sketching of fruits
Week 2 Drawing of bottles and bowls
Week 3 Drawing of birds
Week 4 Drawing of animals
Week 5 Drawing of people
Week 6 Drawing of more people

Mrs. Anita Klimek¸ is an OLLI member who attended University of Miami, Miami-Dade Community College and the Miami Arts Institute. She grew up in Miami, Florida and has been an artist all of her life. She taught art painting and drawing at Michael’s arts and crafts retail chain. She also teaches painting privately at her home.
