Course Description

In this class, we will be reading and discussing the intimate portraits of first ladies: their lives, ambitions, and partnerships with their presidential spouses. C-Span did a series focused upon the first ladies from Martha to Michelle. Susan Swain wrote much of the script and then the book we will be reading: First Ladies by Susan Swain. This class is taught by Mr. Eric Selby, an OLLI member, using videoconference.

Mr. Eric Selby has taught English and directed drama for over 30 years. He holds a M.A. in English from Middlebury College’s Bread Loaf School of English and has attended the University of Vermont and St. Michael’s College for additional graduate work.
