Course Description 

Anush traveled to Afghanistan and Pakistan in May 2016 and had a very interesting and FUN time.  She first traveled independently to Afghanistan and on to Pakistan where she spent two weeks. She had many adventures on this trip and will show photos and tell stories of her experiences.

Week 1

Afghanistan:  Planning the trip for independent travel involved such issues: Getting a tourist visa, Where to Stay? Couchsurfing? What to see? What to do for FUN!  Three full days in colorful Kabul and outskirts including security, ood, friends, and shopping.

Week 2

Pakistan:  Planning a 14 day trip to this interesting country and spending the first 4 days in the capital city of Islamabad.

Week 3

Pakistan: Riding the Karakoram Highway (KKH) from Islamabad to the Chinese Border, which is the highest elevation paved road between two countries. Temp in Islamabad was 118 and at Chinese border was 32 due to elevation.

Week 4

Pakistan: Hunza Valley and the magnificent mountains of Pakistan. Also visits to UNESCO sites, Primary School, and Job Development Programs for handicapped and women.

Week 5

Pakistan: The royal city of Lahore and the Flag Closing Ceremony on the India border.

Week 6

Pakistan: Train travel from Lahore to Rawalpindi
