Course Description

The sole name of Leonardo Da Vinci brings back the whole idea of what the Renaissance was. He encompasses the Universal man. He studied all aspects of life, from science to painting and he captured the essence of humanity. On the other hand, Michelangelo, who was known as the most prestigious sculptor of his time, left us with the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel and the Last Judgment. Different personalities, Leonardo and Michelangelo, both skilled artists, they were never friends, but today they are the most renowned artists that ever existed.

Dr. Batia Cohen has a Ph.D. in Mesoamerican Studies from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from the Universidad Metropolitana in Mexico City. She was an adjunct professor at Florida International University, and she has taught in Florida for the past 15 years. Batia has published numerous articles in specialized Art and History magazines. She is currently a collaborator of a cultural magazine in Spanish online; LetraUrbana.com. She is the author of the historical novel Una Amapola Entre Cactus.
